Keep The Vintage Collection Archive Edition book safe in a specially designed slipcase reminiscent of the classic Kenner The Empire Strikes Back vinyl collector's case. We've painstakingly recreated the nostalgia of the 1981 action figure carrying case using Hasbro's The Vintage Collection action figures. A magnetically clasping top flap keeps the slipcase closed and a special "figure tray" insert adds to the authenticity. There's even an individually numbered, metal "handle" engraved with an limited edition size of 250. And it's loaded with extras!

Each slipcase set comes packed with the Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Archive Edition book; nameplate hand-signed by the team including authors Rich Alot, D. Martin Myatt and Derryl DePriest, and special contributor / Star Wars super-collector Steve Sansweet; action figure bookmark; folio with ten 8x10 art prints of the book's chapter break photos (just add frames for an instant, at-home art gallery); a folded 18x22-inch poster by former Kenner photographer Kim Simmons reimagining the reverse-side of the 1984 "Star Wars is Forever" mail-away poster. As a bonus, we're including a free a set of gold coins in a commemorative holder!

Weighing in at a whopping 4.5 lbs., the 364-page The Vintage Collection Archive Edition book is a comprehensive historical text and detailed visual archive of one of Hasbro's most popular lines of 3.75-inch Star Wars action figures, The Vintage Collection. Whether you're new to Hasbro's The Vintage Collection or a long-time collector, you'll find the book an invaluable collecting resource.

A box of surprises

Not vintage - but somehow still: the other day I got the TVC (to the Neo Line from Hasbro) book from Blue Milk. Since vintage carry cases are a collecting focus, there was no way around the "slipcase" version of the book for me - because the case is designed like the first EsB case (only with Neo figures re-photographed by the great D Martin Myatt and Rich Alot - both former stock photographers for Rebelscum). So far so good. Then the package arrived and was - to my surprise - filled to the top with extras and goodies. Here are a few pictures - the inclined vintage collector will probably recognize and appreciate the tributes. The reinterpretations of the old vintage motifs with the modern figures is great fun. The actual book itself is also great, exactly what you'd expect; a neat and quite generous listing of all the figures and vehicles, plus case-by-case anecdotes of why it was done this way or that, or why the particular designer focused on this or that detail. Because Derryl DePriest (former head of Hasbro Boys and one of the initiators of the TVC) is co-author, one has of course great insights. Looking at toy prices recently, I would say this book is as good as it gets, and worth its price.
